This Ain’t Your Father’s Plant Warranty

There are many ways to make a profit in this industry. You can improve efficiencies, raise prices and/or lower your expenses. Well, at our next NJLCA membership meeting, which will be held on June 9th at Site One (formerly Shemin Nurseries – Mahwah, NJ), Stephen Skyer, ISA Certified Arborist, at Ken’s Tree Care will discuss how to do all three by focusing on something most of us rarely think about.  Warranties, guarantees and the true cost of plant replacements.  He will also show us how the correct way to install plants and the proper amendments can have an impact on your profits.   

 While all of us would love to find the person who created the 1-year warranty on plant material and hurt him bad, the reality is that, as an industry, we are stuck with it.  However, there are many ways to work with plant warranties, which can be beneficial to you, your client and the plants themselves.  That’s why you need to join us and listen to Stephen as he discusses ways to increase your profits, and minimize your plant losses, while still providing your customers with a fair and solid plant warranty.
