International Offshore Safety at Sea with Hands-On Training 

Learn or refresh your survival skills before this year's Newport to Bermuda race.

5 year World Sailing certification.

This course is for Crew Members participating in International Races or where a World Sailing (ISAF) certification is required, as well as Long Distance Cruising Sailors, and any other sailor who wishes to be safer on the water and gain hands on practical experience with aspects of safety listed below.

Topics include all of those from the one-day Offshore Safety at Sea Course plus the following hands-on sessions:

  • Life Jackets and Cold Exposure Issues
  • Launching, boarding, and righting a life raft
  • Fire extinguisher use
  • Throw ropes
  • Maintenance of Safety Gear
  • Group Activities to test Problem Solving abilities.

The course takes approximately fourteen (14) hours to complete.
