Clergy and lay leaders are invited to attend a special Christian Education Day with guest speaker Elisabeth (Lisa) Kimball, Director of the Center for Ministry of Teaching and Professor of Christian Formation and Congregational Leadership at Virginia Theological Seminary.
FOCUS: The focus of the day will be responding to the needs of congregations to help adults and children shape practices and habits that strengthen our faith in daily life. Our opportunities for Christian formation (with adults or children) have the most meaning when they then impact the way we live as the followers of Christ from day to day. On the registration form, each registrant will be asked to share her/his greatest joy, concern and/or challenge in the local church in getting other involved in faith formation and in connecting such formation to daily life.
Lisa received her Ph.D. in Work, Community, and Family Education from the University of Minnesota in 2007. Her dissertation, “Being Godparent: A Dialogical Hermeneutic Study of Godparenthood” wove together her interests in human development, experiential learning, faith formation, church history, and popular culture.
