Help make the holidays sweeter for Sunnyvale Seniors. SCS needs 600 small loaves of holiday bread to distribute with monthly food in December to Seniors who qualify for food assistance. This is a fun activity for your organization and builds strong community. Your homemade gifts means a lot to our Seniors. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Project Details
Organizations such as scouts, teams, churches and schools are encouraged to bake small loaves of banana bread, pumpkin bread, orange spice bread, ginger bread, cranberry bread etc. Many seniors have health concerns, so avoid clazing and high sugar baked items.
Packaging: Loaves should be wrapped in see through plastic. Ribbons are great. Dress them up for the holidays!
Labeling: Please include your organization's name and information including troop number, school or church. Clearly display the bread type and ingredients in 12 point font or larger. Print or write information on a large self adhesive label or tape a piece of paper to the outside of the plastic wrapper
Include a note: We encourage you to write a personal short note and attach it to the outside of the bread package. This can be a greeting card or a small note card.
Food Preparation Reminders
Thoroughly clean work areas, cutting boards and utensils with hot water and soap before cooking and in between steps. Wash hands with soapy water for 20 seconds before cooking, after handling eggs, usng the bathroom or touching pets.
Bake all items at 325 degrees or higher
Wear one time use plastic gloves when handling and packaging baked loaves.
