Join the Citizens Research Council and the Urban
Consulate to Talk Education Policy in Detroit

Because it is back-to-school time for Detroit students, the Citizens Research Council of Michigan is partnering with the Urban Consulate in Detroit to talk about education policy in Detroit. We will highlight our recent reporting on education finances in the city, including the June publication A Progress Report on Detroit Public Schools Community District Finances

Speakers:

  • Nikolai Vitti, Superintendent, Detroit Public Schools Community District (expected)
  • Craig Thiel - Research Director, Citizens Research Council
  • Erin Einhorn - Editor, ChalkBeat Detroit
  • Chase Cantrell - HOST, Urban Consulate; graduate, Detroit Public Schools; Director, Building Community Value Detroit

Format: Urban Consulate gatherings provide an opportunity for open salon-style dialogue with its participants. Invited speakers deliver prepared remarks (10-15 minutes) followed by audience questions. Networking and open discussion will continue after the question and answer session.

Attendees: The event is open to the public; Urban Consulate has an open door policy.  We ask that you let us know that your are coming for planning purposes.
