March 17-Confucianism in the Age of Globalization Workshop 2 

The Boston University Confucian Association and the Confucius Institute at UMass Boston are proud to announce the 2nd event in our 2017-2018 workshop series on Contemporary topics in Confucianism and Chinese Culture.

Topic: Towards a Global Confucianism in the 21st Century: Field notes from China, South Korea, and Indonesia

Keynote Speaker:  Prof. Anna Sun, Kenyon College

Sun is Associate Professor of Sociology and Asian studies at Kenyon College, and Chair of the Department of Sociology. Sun's book Confucianism as a World Religion: Contested Histories and Contemporary Realities (Princeton, 2013) has received two book awards: the Distinguished Book Award of the Sociology of Religion Section of the American Sociological Association and the Best First Book in the History of Religion Award of the American Academy of Religion.
