  • "Regulators Panel," moderated by Paul Sighinolfi, Executive Director of Maine Workers' Compensation Board. Panelists include: Judge David Langham, Deputy Chief Judge for Compensation Claims Court of Florida; Dwight Lovan, Commissioner of Kentucky Department of Workers' Compensation Board; Mark Long, Director of the State of Michigan Workers' Compensation Agency
  • "President & CEO Panel," moderated by AmCOMP Chairman Emeritus & Founder, Don DeCarlo.Panelists include: John Leonard, AmCOMP President and President & CEO of MEMIC; Lisa Corless, President of AF Group; Tom Phelan, President & CEO of Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company.
  • "Fighting Fraud," with Catherine Leahy Scott, New York State Inspector General
  • "Electing of a President" Steve Richman, General Counsel for the Board of Elections in the City of New York.

Highlights of the Quality Research Institute Summit on Friday, October 21st include:

Numerous panels bringing together diverse perspectives--from clinicians and data scientists to researchers and payers--for a thought-provoking discussion on the challenges of defining quality care and improving patient outcomes. The Summit will feature notable industry speakers including (but not limited to): 

  • Keynote Speaker: Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. Binder is a passionate advocate for quality transparency and reducing medical errors, and is one of the most influential people in healthcare.
  • Steve Perroots: Vice President, Global Claims at Marriott International
  • Todd Albert, MD: Surgeon-in-Chief at Hospital for Special Surgery; Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College
  • John Ruser, PhD: President and CEO, Workers' Compensation Research Institute
  • Richard Herzog, MD: Director of Spinal Imaging at Hospital for Special Surgery; Executive Director of Spreemo Quality Research Institute
  • Daniel Elgort, PhD: Vice President Healthcare Analytics at Spreemo, former Global Lead for Healthcare Big Data Analytics Research at Philips
  • Jerome Schofferman, MD: Director at North American Spine Society (NASS), Chair of the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism and Founder of the Rehabilitation, Interventions and Medical Committee Section at NASS.
