TOPIC: RESPONDING SUCCESSFULLY TO IRS NOTICES

Seminar Description:  Notices, Notices, Notices.  The IRS is sending out computer generated notices and correspondence of every type.  Whether the notice is for an Audit or a Collection related issue, the practitioner’s response can determine how successfully your clients’ issues get resolved.

This seminar will cover but is not limited to the basic notices and other IRS correspondence (e.g. CP2000; CP504 and other 500 series notices; Notice of Deficiency, Information Document Requests, etc.).  We will review the contents of the correspondence and suggest methods to respond professionally.

Time permitting, we will also review the various IRS forms to use in responding to specific situations (911, Taxpayer Advocate Request; 8857, Innocent Spouse; 9423, Collection Appeal Request; 9465, Request for an Installment Agreement [including 433-A, 433-B, 433-D, 433-f]; 12153, Request for Collection Due Process Hearing; 12203, Request for an Appeals Review; 13711, Request for an Appeal of an Offer in Compromise).

Participants are asked to bring in their redacted client letters so we can share the contents and suggestions for responses.
