Course Description:

The workshop provides a comprehensive look at low yield equity cooperative real estate development. We will discuss basic information about the process, the players, roles, and benefits. We will look at how to evaluate the development potential of a site, assess market demand and understanding cooperative governance. Participants will learn how to evaluate the financial feasibility of a housing cooperative project and explore how the value of a cooperative property is determined. We will evaluate cooperative housing real estate projects from the perspective of private and public sector lenders, estimate the amount of debt a project can support and explore ways to close financing gaps.
