ICCER is pleased to present Designing Principles in Memory Care Facilities on March 25 with Associate ICCER Member, Berry Architecture + Associates.
About the webinar: George and Caitlin will discuss how design principles can be implemented in memory care facilities which can improve quality of life for seniors with memory care challenges by keeping them engaged and stimulated, and how the design can assist staff to accomplish these goals. They will concentrate on two relevant points: planning principles and interior finishes. Planning principles include designing for person-centred care and identifying design elements that will support the remaining abilities of persons in all stages of dementia. Interior finishes will consider how colours, lighting, flooring, soft furnishings, and other interior elements can enhance quality of life and support prolonged functionality for memory care individuals. The webinar will include specific examples and key design principles for real-life support to seniors, staff, and families.
