Tour of Eskra Technical Products, Inc.

This month we travel to Eskra Technical Products, Inc. (ETP) in Saukville to learn about the packaged battery failure modes that are commonly being found in the field along with the best practices in preventing such failures. In addition we will view a short video of the safety testing performed at ETP. A brief discussion of what new battery technologies are on the horizon and a short facility tour of what they do will follow.

Our presenter will be Mike Eskra, President of ETP. Mike has been in the manufacture and development of new battery chemistries for 35+ years from lead acid to solid state batteries.  He has helped establish the lithium ion and nickel metal hydride battery industry, and has been concentrating his effort in safely packaging high power and energy systems for US automotive, specialty space and military applications.  Most recently he has been involved in the determination of the cause of hundreds of battery failures which are occurring in the consumer marketplace today
