How to Stay RICH 

While Having Difficult Conversations

with Mary Jo Harwood, LSW, DNCCM

This webinar will address the challenges of staying RICH when having difficult conversations during supervision or with colleagues in the workplace.  Conflict can affect our ability to communicate. Effective communication is key to staying RICH and arriving at mutually agreeable solutions. Participants in this webinar will:

Presenter


Mary Jo Harwood, LSW, DNCCM is a program coordinator with the Traumatic Stress Institute. She has over 25 years of experience as a trauma and conflict management specialist, responding to crisis, treating trauma and building conflict competent communities. As a community mediator, Mary Jo has worked with diverse populations to resolve conflict that is often associated with post-crisis response and the rebuilding of communities.  Mary Jo directed the Dialogue and Resolution Center, a division of the Center for Victims in Pittsburgh, PA providing trainings that addressed building conflict-competent teams in organizations and providing guidance and support to supervisory-level staff when addressing conflict with employees, allied professionals, community leaders and victim service clients.  Internationally, Mary Jo is a member of Mediators Beyond Borders International. She has worked in Liberia and South Sudan and consulted with teams in Northern Nigeria and Kenya to address the intersection of trauma and peacebuilding through the application of conflict and trauma-sensitive programming. She is currently a volunteer Victim Offender Dialogue Mediator for the Office of the Victim Advocate. She is also a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the National Center for Crisis Management.
