Please join us for our final meeting of the year! We're excited to have Duane Krzysik from Innospec Performance Chemicals joining us for a great presentation.

 Duane Krzysik: Duane Krzysik has over 42 years of experience in research and product development in consumer products and personal care ingredients. Duane has previously worked in a number of technical roles at Helene Curtis (Unilever), Dow Corning, Kimberly-Clark, and Noveon/Lubrizol. He has contributed to the success of many well-known consumer products including Post Impressions Perm, Kleenex with Lotion, and Kleenex Cool Touch Lotion.  Duane has over 60 patents and patent applications along with numerous published articles and industry presentations.  Duane is currently Silicone Technical Manager at Innospec focusing on cyclic-free formulating and value added silicone compositions.

Exploring new opportunities in cyclic-free formulating

 Abstract:

The ever-evolving Personal & Beauty Care industry is soon to be faced with a regulatory requirement to formulate away from cyclic silicones in rinse-off products and more recently the proposed legislation to eliminate the use of cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohexasiloxane from all personal care products.

The removal of these valuable materials from the formulators’ tool kit will challenge the best formulators to re-create cyclic-free products that provide benefits of cyclo-silicones that bring the same enjoyable experience for todays’ consumers. 

This presentation will briefly discuss the proposed legislation and will help visitors to explore a range silicone blends that will assist with cyclic-free evolution. All without compromising on a high quality end product.
