AIA EKC Project Tour - Frederick Douglass High School
AIA East KY is pleased to offer its members an opportunity for continuing education in conjunction with a tour of Fayette County's new Frederick Douglass High School. Frederick Douglass High School is a 287,125 s.f. two-story building designed for 1800 students. 21st century programming and design established the guiding principles for all aspects of the project. The project is also exemplary in its implementation of high performance, Net-Zero Energy Ready building strategies. The design team is: Tate Hill Jacobs Architects [architect]; Perkins + Will [consulting architect]; Poage Engineers & Associates, Inc. [structural engineer]; CMTA Consulting Engineers [MEP engineer]; CARMAN [civil & landscape consultant]; Joby Smith & Associates [food services consultant]. The General Contractor is D.W. Wilburn, Inc.
