 LEI POINA OLE is a program under Malama o Na Keiki - a cultural nursing program belonging to Caring for Hawaii Neonates, a 501c3 that enhances the care for prenatal to kupuna, especially high risk and fetal loss, through collaborations, direct services and education.  

Our collaboration with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu has developed a special cultural program to serve our families within the diocese and all communities.

We welcome you to the inaugural parents halawai (gathering)

2:30 P.M. - 2:50 P.M.   R & R (Registration & Reflection time) at Liebert Hall and surrounding grounds

3:00 P.M.  PULE WEHE: Opening prayer

Followed by discussions, activities and No'o (introspection)

5:00 P.M.   ME 'AI AHIAHI:  Dinner

6:00 P.M.   HALAWAI:  Meeting

7:00 P.M.  HALE PULE:  Catholic Mass, welcoming all retreatants 

8:00 P.M.  A HUI HOU....Until we meet again.


FEE:  Donation of  $20 per person

PARKING:   On site and available near Liebert Hall. 

WHERE TO MEET?  LIEBERT HALL

As you travel on Kalihi Street into the valley, you'll pass Keiki o ka 'Aina Learning Center.  St. Anthony's will be shortly after on your right.  Turn right and travel the road until you come to your first left.  Turn left and left again into the parking area.  You will see Liebert Hall straight ahead.

WHAT TO WEAR?  Comfortable clothing.  Shoes are suggested in case the grounds are wet or damp, in case you decide to walk the hilly areas.  If we are blessed with the ua, you may want to have an umbrella to move from your car to the meeting space.

MOSQUITO REPELLENT:  The beauty of Kalihi Valley is inviting to the mosquitos - you may consider a natural insect repellent applied prior to your arrival.  We will also have some available if needed.  

SNACKS:  If you need a little snack to hold you over, we'll have some items, however, you are welcomed to also bring your own choices.

BEVERAGES:  Water will be available, however, having your own refillable water containers are encouragened.  

QUESTIONNAIRE:  Once your registration is confirned, a questionnaire will be sent to help us better support your retreat time.  We will appreciate this questionnaire being completed and returned prior to January 19  Mahalo.
