PrepareCT: Is Your Business Prepared for a Disaster? Do You Have a Disaster Recovery Plan in Place?
Please join SCORE Fairfield County and the Weston Library on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Weston Library for an informative business-critical presentation that will give business owners the ability to significantly reduce risk of loss. Presentation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
The Connecticut Small Business Development Center (CTSBDC), in partnership with six leading business-related organizations statewide, has created a new program, PrepareCT. PrepareCT is a straightforward, effective program for creating a business disruption and disaster recovery plan. Hurricanes, flooding, blizzards, computer failures, fire-disruptions and disasters like these can wreak havoc on a small business. According to the federal Small Business Administration (SBA), 40-60% of small businesses can't survive a disaster that forces them to shut down for more than a few days. And, as a small business your ability to respond quickly and recover after an emergency is critical to ensure your success. This workshop will show you how to be better prepared for emergencies. Our Speaker: Brian Baxendale is a SCORE counselor and has been responsible for businesses around the world. His businesses have experienced fire bombs to the normal every day risk of power outages and computer servers going down.
