Part of our series of workshops on internet marketing, this program will show small business owners how to create, upgrade and maintain a web presence using WordPress, the powerful Content Management System that is a website development platform ideally suited for many small business owners. This workshop is an overview that will be useful for both beginning & intermediate users. It will help those unfamiliar with WordPress to get started, and support those already working on this platform to make the most out of WordPress as a key part of a small business' internet marketing strategy. Topics include:

• How to set-up a beginner WordPress website in minutes
• The differences between standard and customized themes
• How to have WordPress host your site
• How to download and install WordPress on your own
• Shopping for and customizing WordPress themes
• Useful plug-ins and widgets
• Managing users and site administration
• Taking WordPress to the next level

Presenter & Moderator: Jeff Seaver

Jeff owns Seaver Interactive, a website design and internet marketing agency in Westport, CT with over 20 years of experience building websites and in the communication arts. He teaches internet marketing at the graduate school level. Jeff is a SCORE mentor, and he developed and moderates this Internet Marketing workshop series for SCORE.

Presenter: Jon Dupree

Jon owns Calibrate Marketing & Mentoring and has 20 years experience positioning products and companies in the B2B market. He has trained and developed marketing strategies for start-ups and SMB to improve their digital performance for search engines, e-mail marketing and social media. Jon holds an economics degree from Syracuse University and has been certified as an ISO 9000 auditor.
