Social media websites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are changing the ways we advertise and promote ourselves to others, the way we connect, and even the way we think. The rise of social media has been so fast and so pervasive that our legal system is having trouble keeping up with these new technologies.

As a result, there are many cutting-edge legal issues that attorneys, accountants and other professionals are only beginning to grapple with. In this fast-paced, entertaining webinar, technology lawyer Cliff Ennico will walk you through the social media maze and take questions from participants about the rules that apply when you engage in social activities online.

You will learn “state of the art” answers to the most pressing questions involving social media, including:

  • Do you have privacy rights when you post something on Facebook?
  • Can someone post information about you online without your permission?
  • Who owns a Facebook or Twitter account?
  • Can you use information on someone else’s Facebook page without their permission?
  • Can you be sued because of something you say on Facebook or LinkedIn?
  • Can you be sued if somebody else says something bad on your Facebook page?
  • Can employers restrict their employees’ social media activities?
  • Can a government (or a hostile person) use social media postings as evidence against you in legal matters?
  • Should you charge sales taxes when selling goods or services on a social media website?
