Charlotte Ross is Owner/Operator of Sweet Acre Farm, a Certified Organic mixed vegetable & flower farm in Lebanon, CT. She is also the Program Coordinator for the Solid Ground Farmer Training Program, a BFRDP-funded training series for growers in CT offered through UConn Extension. She is a Steering Committee member of the New CT Farmer Alliance, a group that aims to connect new growers in the state with their peers, creating a strong network of growers to resource-share and support each other.
Jeff Cordulack is Executive Director of The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut whose mission is to ensure the growth and viability of organic agriculture, food, and land care. CT NOFA connects consumers to local farmers and provides education via conferences and workshops. In 2018, he acquired 3 agricultural grants that will enable CT NOFA to teach farmers ways to improve pollinator habitat and restore soil carbon to optimal levels and improve chances for long-term success.

Successful farmers are not only good growers, they are excellent business managers and marketers too. Farmer networks can introduce you to innovative and best practices, and can shorten the learning curve for new farmers in Connecticut. Connecticut's agriculture service providers offer many programs and grants designed to help farmers succeed.
