New West Festival: 2011 "Rise of the Rockies"

This first annual New West Festival "Rise of the Rockies" in Missoula, Montana, promises to be an interesting mix of topics and speakers on Western entrepreneurism, climate change, economic development, and local food systems. Thursday evening will set the stage with a rich artistic experience at the celebrated Missoula Museum of Art and Friday's all-day sessions at the Holiday Inn Missoula Downtown will feature digital branding/social media tips by Jim Nichols; a four-step framework to calculate and reduce your personal, business, or government's carbon footprint by Allison Gannet; a model for economic stability presented by Missoula's Mayor John Engen; local food systems analyst, Ken Meter with a panel of experts; and a technology venture investing by Trevor Loy and others!
