IES Toronto - Lightwalk at the new Ryerson University Student Learning Centre
(The site previously known to many as “Sam the Record Man”)
Ryerson university’s student learning centre (SLC) was conceived as ‘a library without books’. A design that references the historical gathering spaces of ancient Greece, the SLC offers students eight individually designed floors that include space to meet, study, and exchange ideas – encouraging students to interact with their physical environment.

Pre-Registration is Required
The evening will begin in the main floor amphitheatre with a presentation by the design principals from Consullux, Crossey Engineering, and Zeidler Partnership Architects. You will observe the building fully in use; groups will be formed for guided tours through the space to minimize disruption and ensure that you have a full experience.
Please note that floors 3 and 7 are quiet zones. Elevator use may be limited: please let us know if any assistance or accommodation is required.
The first group of presentations will begin at 5:45, please be on time.
