The Valley Summer Youth Band

VALLEY SUMMER YOUTH BAND is an intensive seven week program that targets Valley High School students and advanced Middle School students (with director approval) who want to expand and enhance their playing skills in the context of professional leadership and a community band experience with their peers from the entire area. The end product of the program is a high quality band, playing level appropriate and challenging music. During the last three weeks of the band experience, the band will play concerts at community events and public places for the enjoyment of friends, family and the general public.

Participants: Instrumentalists from all over the valley who are in high school or advanced middle school students that are approved by the director . Students from all area highschools are welcome - including private, alternative, and home school students.

Dates: June 7 to July 28 (no events the week of July 4th)

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Teeland Middle School. There will be a one week break the week of July 4th to accommodate 4^th of July celebrations and vacations.

Performances: Participants will perform in multiple performances following the 4th of July break. Performance schedule will be announced at a later date.

Cost: Tuition will be $250 per person for the six week program. If two participants are from the same family, the tuition will be $450 for the two students. If three participants are from the same family, the tuition will be $600. Partial and full scholarships are available.
