"Making Connections Matter -
3 must-haves for your post-pandemic
digital marketing strategy"

Join fellow CAMA Ontario members for our first in-person professional development event in two years. Among many things, the Covid-19 pandemic taught us some hard lessons, opened doors for new opportunities, and changed the way we communicate.

We’ve identified three key must-haves for digitally connecting with audiences and customers: website optimization, social influencers, and podcasts.

CAMA Ontario will be offering an in-person and virtual professional development event on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM EDT at Cutten Fields, Guelph, ON.
Website Optimization - The next era in web marketing
Marty Fisher, President, Sherpa.McKim
Where’s the best place to hide a dead body? The second page of Google Search Results. It’s one thing to create content for the web, it’s quite another to generate a meaningful and effective digital vocabulary that meets customers and prospects in their moments of intent. Marty will cover the state of search, touch on-demand generation vs lead generation, hard and soft content, and some hints and tips that attendees can start using right when they return to work the next day.

The Authority Platform - How to turn what you know into a client generating machine
Doug Foley, President, Giant Goat
In this interactive session, Doug will share his story on how he built his podcast, which led to a book deal, a TED Talk, and helped him 5x his business. In this presentation, you will learn the exact framework he used to create content, the script for getting highly influential guests on your show, and most importantly how to overcome imposter syndrome and have the courage to get started.

“Try something new!” Why the heck and how the heck to produce a podcast series
Claire Bosnich, Videographer and Podcast Producer, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Kirk Finken, Video and Podcast Producer, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Learn from the producers of The First Sixteen podcast series why they decided to pursue the podcast medium, and how they did it. They will share with you their tools, trials, and tribulations of producing a series for leading thinkers and doers in the ag and food sector (in English and French, no less).

Collaborate & connect: How to work with influencers
Utilizing influencer marketing to connect with new audiences
Nicole Marenick , Managing Director of Maren Marcoux

  • How to decide if working with social influencers is right for your company/brand?
  • How to select which influencers to work with
  • How to set a budget and expectations for influencer partnerships
  • Establishing metrics for success

Leveraging social media influencers to tell your story of farm to food
Michelle Jaelin, Media Dietitian at Nutrition Artist

In this session, Michelle Jaelin will discuss how working with influencers can help change and shape consumer perceptions about food and agriculture. This leads to better awareness of how farm gets to food along with building trust with your target consumer. Perhaps most importantly, you will learn how influencers have a valuable role in myth busting some of the biggest misconceptions consumers have about agri-food.
