May 20, 2023 Presbytery Meeting
Please join the Presbytery of West Virginia for the May 20, 2023 Stated Presbytery Meeting at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksburg. This meeting will honor General Presbyter Ed Thompson, as it is the last Presbytery meeting before he retires.
The Presbytery is now providing an opportunity to engage in mission at each in-person Stated Presbytery Meeting, with each commissioner encouraged to bring an item designated by the host to benefit one of its missions. For the May 20 Stated Presbytery Meeting, the church has requested coloring books and crayons for children in the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program.
Please remember that the presbytery no longer prints meeting packets except upon request. The packet will be emailed to those who receive our newsletter and posted on the presbytery website on May 10; you are strongly encouraged to either print a copy at home or download the packet in advance to view on your phone or tablet. If you wish to request a printed packet from the presbytery, please contact the office by May 17.
The lunch menu for the meeting includes several types of salad (tossed with several topping options, spinach, Greek, a variety of pasta salads, and broccoli slaw), a variety of sandwiches (ham, chicken, and egg salad; turkey and ham & cheese sliders, pimento cheese, and roll-ups), and fresh fruit. There will be tea and water to drink, plus coffee in the morning. Additionally, light refreshments will be available in the morning.
The cost for lunch is $10. If you wish to pay by Paypal, you must go to the presbytery's homepage and click on the Donate button in the left-hand column. From there, you'll be taken to a Paypal donation page, where you can select PWV Meeting Lunch from the "Use this donation for" drop-down list. Otherwise, you may pay at the door with cash or a check made out to First Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg.
Childcare will be offered if reservations are made by the childcare deadline of May 4.
The deadline for advance registration is Wednesday, May 10. It is important to register in advance so that lunch will be available for you. Ministers and churches who need to request an excused absence should contact the presbytery office directly at office@wvpresbytery.org or 304-744-7634.
