This workshop will cover the latest updates to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, we will provide guidelines for building a Market Based Pay Structure. Also, we will provide best practices in Retention Strategies.

Presenter:

                     Dennis J Dunlap SPHR, SHRM SCP

Dennis has over 35 years experience in Business and Human Resources. He was the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for a fortune 500 financial services organization. He played a significant role with this organization by leading the HR function on 14 acquisitions.

Dennis currently works as a human resources consultant with a number of local and county governments and small businesses. His concentration over the past 15 years has been in the compensation and employee relations areas. Dennis serves as the part time Human Resources Director for Boone, Clinton, and Ripley Counties.  He is also a certified SCORE Mentor.

He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and holds the designation of SPHR and SHRM SCP.  Dennis has presented programs on developing the employee handbook and conducting investigations involving harassment for the Association of Indiana Counties and IMPACT

Dennis has also worked as a Career Management Coach with Right Management.

He has served as a MAP faculty member since 2002 , teaching courses in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior and the Business Career Seminar course. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University and an MBA degree from Butler University.
