Are you a kid that likes to cook and eat? Would you be interested in learning more about where your food comes from? Kids will learn cooking skills and techniques while having fun with new friends! One day will travel to the Lexington Farmers Market and have a "Top Chef" Style Shopping challenge where kids must shop within a budget to acquire ingredients for their special recipes and then we will cook back at our air conditioned kitchen!
If you have come to a Kids Cooking Green camp before, you know we like to mix it up and try new things! This summer we will master a traditional yet almost forgotten favorite, Baked Alaska (ice cream rolled in a thin cake layer then covered in meringue... and baked)! We will learn to make Chinese dumpling dough and stuff it with a gingered pork filling, to serve with homemade Asian Cucumber Pickles.
And of course we will keep some old favorites one the menu like Cheese Ravioli with a nut-free summer pesto sauce!
Registration is now open! The cost is $350 + a $45 food cost.
