Discerning God's Call Retreat

Have you sensed God calling you to ministry in new ways, but are wondering what shape that ministry might take?

Join others who are wrestling with that same question for a retreat focused on Listening for God in a Noisy World.

With so many voices vying for our attention, how do you learn to listen to the voice of God? Matt O’Rear from Wartburg Seminary will spend time sorting through some of the predominant voices competing for our attention – voices that stake a claim on who we should be, what we should value, and what makes us happy.  We will spend time thinking about the voice of God which lays claim on their lives and how following that call might help them find a sense of purpose, meaning, and even joy.

This time together is designed to assist those who are wondering if God may be calling them to leadership in the church as a pastor, deacon or in other leadership role within their  own congregation or synod.  Bishop Mark Narum and staff will also be present for conversations about candidacy and opportunities to serve throughout the church.

This retreat is one of 3 which are being sponsored by the 9 ELCA Synods of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.  Similar retreats will be held in November, and in the Spring of 2018 at locations in Minnesota.  If you miss this one, you are welcome to attend one of those once the locations and dates are confirmed.
