Minneapolis Haas Lathe Training - August 6th - 10th, 2018 

The Haas Lathe classes are Basic Classes intended for individuals that will setup and run a Haas lathe (GT/SL/ST/DS/TL Models). Below are brief descriptions of the courses and what is covered in each class.  

Classroom Training is included with a new machine purchase and you may register up to (3) operators per class.  NOTE:  If you have purchased a Used machine, please contact the Training Coordinator for more information on purchasing Classroom Training.

Operators should have general turning knowledge prior to taking any of the classes.

Classes run from 9 am to 4 pm each day (except the LTFL and BAR classes) with one hour for lunch (on your own).

Depending on your machine model and configuration, you may select the TL* or LOP**, LPRO and (if equipped) LTFL and/or BAR. 

*The TL Operator Class is offered once a month, with additional class offerings added if needed. If you have a TL model, you will want to take the TL Operator and LPRO Lathe Programming.  You do NOT have to take them the same week.

TL (*For TL Series Models):  The 1-day Basic Operator Class is intended for individuals that will setup and run a Haas Tool Room Lathe.  The course covers the use of the Haas control panel, download and upload of programs, the setting of tool geometry, the setting of work coordinate offsets and production set up and operation of the machine tool. The class also covers the IPS (Intuitive Programming System). 

LOP (**For Haas GT/SL/ST/DS Models):  This 1-day Basic Operator Class covers the use of the Haas control panel, download and upload of programs, the setting of tool geometry offsets, the setting of work coordinate offsets, production set up and operation of the machine tool.

LPRO (For all Haas Lathe Models):  This 2-day Basic Programming Class is intended for individuals that use G-code to program Haas lathes.  The course covers program format, linear and circular interpolation, tool nose radius compensation and various canned cycles used for drilling, turning, boring and threading.

PREREQUISITE:  Operator must have completed the Basic Lathe Operator Class or equivalent training/experience prior to taking the Lathe Programming Class.

LTFL (For Haas SL/ST/DS Models equipped with Live Tooling):  This half-day (3.5 hour) class is held on Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.  The Live Tool for Haas Lathes Class is intended for individuals that have gone through the Basic Haas Lathe Operator Training and will be running a Haas lathe with Live Tooling/Y-Axis.  The course covers use of the Haas Live Tooling and Y-Axis option as well as C-Axis Programming.

NEW - Haas BAR Operator (For Haas ST/SL/DS Models with Haas BARxxxx):  This half-day (3.5 hour) class is held on Friday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm (following LTFL). The Haas BAR Operator Class is intended for individuals who have a Haas Lathe equipped with a Haas BARxxxx Bar Feeder.  The course will cover basic setup, operation and programming of the Haas Bar Feeder.

PREREQUISITE:  Operator must have completed the Basic Lathe Operator Class or equivalent training/experience prior to taking the Live Tooling or Haas BAR Operator Classes.
