Course Objectives
Participants will learn:
- Gain insight on the most current guidelines for infection control practices
- Distinguish areas of potential risk and injury in the workplace
- Develop strategies related to disease and aerosol transmission and prevention in accordance with CDC guidelines
- Implement policies required for Exposure and Post Exposure Control Plans for the practice setting
About our speaker:
Cathie Collier holds a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, where she served as clinical coordinator and a Masters's degree from the Graduate Institute in Integrative Health and Healing. She is a national lecturer, key opinion leader and published author.
Her presentations include Occupational Health and Safety, Infection Control, HIPAA Regulations, CPR, Medical Emergencies, Sexual Harrassment, and Healthcare Disparities. All programs and courses meet National CERP and ADA approval for CE certification.
A member of the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures, she currently serves as a clinical instructor at The Fones School of Dental Hgiene and Goodwin University teaching at the Hartford Hospital rotation.
Cathie is also CPR/BLS instructor affiliated with the Emergency Care Institute at Bridgeport Hospital.
