Please join us: The Connecticut Power and Energy Society (CPES) and New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) invite you to join us Wednesday evening, September 9, in Hartford for a joint networking event and a conversation about an emerging approach to electric transmission development in New England.

Kick-off event: This event will kick off the CPES 20152016 season and we are delighted to collaborate with NEWIEE and their Connecticut River “Valley Series.”

About the topic: In New England, transmission development needed for power system reliability is taking an historic shift to a competitive framework, pursuant to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Order on Transmission Planning and Cost Allocation (Order 1000). This will create opportunities for new players in the world of transmission development. Competitive procurements for transmission have already happened in other parts of the country and competitive processes and opportunities will be coming to New England. Speakers will discuss these processes, the complexities of this shift, the changes to business strategies, and what this might mean for consumers. CPES and NEWIEE are pleased to provide our members with an early look at what’s emerging in the industry.

Thank you to Day Pitney, our host sponsor for this event:
