Social Security Work Incentives & Ticket To Work

If you have clients that are preparing to go back to work, discussing the impact work will have on their Social Security benefits should be at the top of your list.  Unfortunately, beneficiaries often receive no or incorrect information on the impact of work, including how to report their wages to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and other programs or services that may be available to them.  Several months down the road, the beneficiary finds him or herself in a situation that is often the biggest disincentive for keeping a job – overpayment.  The fear of losing the benefit, for many, often outweighs the benefits of working.  This outcome isn't positive for your program or your client.

Let us help you gain a better understanding of Social Security benefits, including SSA work incentives, reporting wages, and the Ticket to Work program.  By attending this workshop, you'll be better prepared to:

  • Compare key differences between Supplemental Security Income (SSI) & Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  • Identify public benefits resources to help meet client benefits planning needs
  • Describe key work incentives available for the SSI & SSDI programs
  • Calculate the impact, using work incentives, on SSI benefits when a beneficiary returns to work
  • Describe the Ticket to Work Program, including program goals and services and the benefits of participating

A $75 participant training fee covers materials and refreshments
