 Where: One Niagara Wellness Centre, 5927 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario

Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Cost: $197.00 plus HST

Program Includes: 

  • 18 hours of professional facilitation 
  • Binder with weekly lessons 
  • 3 audio recordings of take-home practices 
  • Weekly supportive email with reminders, tips and resources 
  • Opportunity to practice & apply scientifically supported Mind-Body Medicine techniques in a small group supportive setting 

9 Week Course Outline

Lesson # 1
Introduction to Mind-Body Medicine and Meditation

This lesson provides an overview of mind-body medicine and self-care as being central to our healthcare. This lesson also teaches meditation, the practice of relaxed self-awareness. Meditation and self-care form the foundation of an effective stress-reduction and personal wellness program.    

Lesson #2 
Drawings – Unlocking Your Inner Wisdom and Creativity 
This lesson shows you how to use drawings to access your intuitive wisdom for guidance in solving challenging circumstances and health issues. 

Lesson #3
Biofeedback – Learning How to Calm and Relax Your Body and Mind
This lesson teaches you how to use a simple biofeedback technique to quiet the stress response and promote deep, healing relaxation. 

Lesson #4
 
Guided Imagery – Using the Imagination for Health and Healing
This lesson leads you through 2 guided imagery exercises to relax the body and mind and reveal your intuitive wisdom. 

Lesson #5

Breath and Exercise – Relieving Stress and Promoting Health through Movement 
This lesson explains the wonderful health benefits of regular exercise and deep breathing.This lesson also teaches a movement meditation for shaking you loose from your habitual patterns and stuck places, and includes a gentle yoga class to balance and harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

Understanding Emotions - Transforming Our Emotional States

This lesson offers an exercise to help you harness the healing benefit of emotional awareness and expression. 

 

Lesson #7
Mindful and Healthful Eating
This lesson discusses how to  explore your relationship with food, make more healthful food choices and to eat in a more relaxed, conscious and life-affirming way. 

 

Lesson #8

Science, Spirituality and Healing – Understanding the Role of Spirituality and Meaning

This lesson explores the health impact of hope and faith and provides practices for mobilizing the healing power of gratitude, love, inspiration and “life-energy”.

Lesson #9
Bringing it all Together – Review and Next Steps for Healthy, Vibrant Life!

This lesson guides you in bringing together the various techniques and insights from the previous 9 lessons into a comprehensive stress-reduction program that is tailored to your needs.
