Three-Dimensional Science Tasks: Learn to Identify & Evaluate
In this session, participants will learn to identify a three -dimensional science task, including the elements of each science dimension being assessed. We will examine the role of phenomena in tasks and discuss how 3D assessment fits in the overall science assessment system. We will consider when and how often tasks should be used, and what is required of teachers and students in using them. Teachers will look at tools to help evaluate their own existing assessments for evidence of the three dimensions of NGSS.
Participants in this session will need to bring a unit plan, a weekly lesson, and/or an assessment.
