In this two-day introductory class, Jeffrey Yuen will guide students through an understanding of essential oils from a chinese medical perspective. Essential oils represent the Jing-essence of the plant kingdom and thus resonate with the yuan level of humanity. In this course, we will discuss the classification of essential oils based on top notes, middle notes, and base notes. Discussion will also cover the classification of oils based on the categories of functions and indications. Mr. Yuen will discuss the use of essential oils from a historical context as well as the modern applications of essential oils and essential oil blends.
