Please join us for our monthly Lunch & Learn, where you will have an opportunity to network (and dine) with female professionals within the construction industry and learn important information about an endless number of topics from our speakers.

Our featured speaker this month is

Dan Whiteman Vice Chairman of Coastal Construction!

Dan is President of Coastal Construction Company, one of south Florida’s largest builders with an annual volume of over $800 million.  He is a graduate of the University of Florida’s School of Construction, and has an earned Doctorate in Construction Management.

He has been a long-time member and supporter of AGC, having served as President of AGC of Mid-Florida as well as Legislative Chairman of the AGC State Council for four years.  He has been appointed by the Governor’s Office to serve on several key construction committees in the State of Florida, including the Workers Compensation Oversight Board, the Radon Commission, and the Building Construction Industry Advisory Council.

Dan is currently a member of the South Florida AGC Board of Directors.  In addition, he has taught Construction Management at the University of Florida, the University of Miami, and as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University, and is on the Advisory Council of each of those Universities’ Construction Programs.

In 1984, he was named by the University of Florida’s M. E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction as its Distinguished Builder, and in 2016, he was named its Distinguished Alumni.  Dan has been married to his high school sweetheart, Diana, for 48 years, and considers among his proudest accomplishments in the industry, that both his children have followed him in construction.  His son, Donald, is a Superintendent on the $400 million Four Seasons Resort & Hotel in Surfside, and his daughter, Debra, was Coastal’s Insurance Manager for 17 years before joining Willis Tower Watson earlier this year, and Debra is in attendance here today.

We hope to see you at the Lunch & Learn for this exciting opportunity to discuss NAWIC benefits.
