IIBA Seattle Chapter Event - Kindra Benavidez - Getting Others Onboard the Change Train

Organizations are constantly challenged to "do more with less" without sacrificing quality of programs, services or regulatory compliance. Leaders and staff are continually asked to find creative ways to improve operations and the bottom line. This all adds up to constant change.

Sponsors convene teams of business analysts, projects managers and subject matter experts to create and implement solutions to achieve objectives. The challenge: it's difficult to get everyone onboard with the change and on the same page with how to accomplish it.

We focus on the "hard" or "external" aspects of change: what is changing and when. However, the most successful efforts address the "soft" or "internal" aspects of people experience in response to change.

This presentation will explore how to leverage those softer skills to generate clarity, interest and engagement in your projects. Ultimately, getting others onboard the "change train" will help you deliver a quality product in more rapid fashion.

Kindra Benavidez, President of KB & Associates, LLC has extensive experience providing Organizational Development and Project Management consultation to public and private sector organizations. She is an enthusiastic and practiced presenter and facilitator with a passion for helping others develop their leadership skills. Her experience includes presenting on leadership, team building, ethics, applying organizational change management on large scale projects, transition management, as well as how to use technology to improve customer service and access.

Kindra has a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Chapman University, and Project Management Certificate from University of Washington, Her background includes employment with Rhodes Consulting and 12 years of service with the Department of Social and Health Services.

Kindra's life motto is taken from the words of Roman philosopher Seneca: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Her passion is helping individuals and organizations prepare for bigger and better things so that when opportunities arise, they are ready to grasp them.
