This course is the 1-day TRAQ RENEWAL course for people who currently hold the TRAQ credential and are up for their 5-year renewal.

Current TRAQ holders may take your renewal course as early as 12 months prior to your expiration date, and up to 6 months past your expiration date with an approved extension. Once passing the renewal exam, your expiration date will be updated 5 additional years from your original expiration date.

Is it time to renew your credential?
If you have been TRAQ qualified for 5 years, it is time to renew! This TRAQ RENEWAL class and exam is is limited to 30 arborists (first-come/first-served). The 1-day event consists of a 5-hour educational review class followed by a 3-hour exam that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the review class and successfully complete the assessment in order to renew your TRAQ qualification. Your ISA TRAQ credential will then be valid for another five years from the expiration date of your original TRAQ credential. The qualification holder is required to take the course and pass the exam every five years in order to maintain the qualification.

In order to register at the Member Price you MUST be a member of ISA International or of Florida Chapter ISA.

All prerequisites for registering will be reviewed and your registration will be finalized via email.

Registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Space is limited to 30 people.

What is required to bring to the class:
 - your government issued photo ID
 - your TRAQ Manual (shipped  via UPS to the address you provide)
 - your TRAQ Workbook (will be handed out at the class)

 - your hard hat and high visiblity vest or shirt (required)
 - #2 pencils and clipboard for taking notes and completing worksheets
 - rain gear, including a large ziplock bag (just in case!)

come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors

please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors;
    we cannot always control the room
temperature to suit everyone

Meet the Instructors:

  • Norm Easey
    Norm Easey is CEO of the Florida Chapter ISA and has a special interest in sharing his tree knowledge; he is a familiar face at the chapter seminars as moderator, speaker and administrator. Most recently Norm served for 4 years on a panel of industry experts that created the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) credential.
  • Sharon Lilly
    Sharon Lilly is a past president of ISA and former chair of the ISA Certification Board. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the commercial sector and has taught arboriculture at the college level. In addition to authoring and producing the interactive CD-ROM series, she is the author of several popular books, including the ISA Arborist Certification Study Guide. More recently, Sharon lead the development of the Tree Risk Assessment Manual and Qualification, as well as the Best Management Practices for Tree Risk Assessment. Sharon continues to write and conduct seminars on many aspects of arboriculture.

An Overview:

This TRAQ RENEWAL course is a full 1-day event for arborists who currently hold theTRAQ credential and are approaching their 5-year renewal.

You will attend a review session of Tree Risk Assessment with Norm Easey and Sharon Lilly, two seasoned TRAQ instructors. They will provide a brief  review of the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Manual accompanied with workbook activities.This 1-day event will consist of 5 hours of review instruction with the instructors plus the 3 hour exam with indoor and outdoor components. You will review:

   -   Target assessment
   -   Site assessment
   -   Tree biology and mechanics
   -  Tree inspection and assessment
   -   Data analysis and risk categorizaion
   -   Mitigation
   -   Reporting
