FLORIDA TREE CLIMBING CHAMPIONSHIP:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Our event is held annually at a different location in Florida each year. Thank you for your interest in participating this year as a volunteer. Our Florida TCC Chair, Nick Meyers, makes final determination of which volunteers get assigned to any particular task.

GENERAL INFO:

  • Please register as a volunteer ahead of time so we know you are available prior to the event. The registration process includes a place to agree to/sign the waiver during the registration process before volunteering at the event; there is also a place for your employer to agree to/sign the waiver. Please have a company representative sign their portion as your employer (self, if you are self-employed).
  • Florida TCC Chair, Nick Meyers, typically needs help before the event with site prep and gear check. During the competition he needs judges, timers/record keepers, team leaders, logistics help and general task assistance. Lunch is provided to registered volunteers.

TYPICAL EVENT SCHEDULE:

  • Site prep begins on the Tuesday and finishes on the Friday before the event.
  • Gear check for all climbers and evaluations for new/less-experienced climbers takes place on Friday afternoon.
  • Preliminary rotations of the climbers are held all day on Saturday. This is the busier day of the competition. Breakdown of all event rings is done at the end of the competition, just prior to the awards ceremony at dusk.
  • Top climbers will proceed to the Sunday Master's Challenge that typically lasts until early afternoon. Final breakdown occurs after the Master's Challenge is over.

SAFETY IS OUR MAIN PRIORITY
Florida TCC Chair, Nick Meyers, will review the list of volunteers and assign tasks based on his needs, as well as on the abilities of the volunteer. All volunteers need to complete the waiver portion of their online registration.
