The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) is dedicated to promoting and supporting biomedical research within the NIH intramural program.

 

 

 

The 2019 NINR Boot Camp is a 4-day intensive research training course at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Sponsored by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), the course is administered by the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES).

NINR's 2019 “Precision Health: Smart Technologies, Smart Health" Boot Camp will address digital health data and technologies that enable “smart health” and improved patient outcomes. 

The event is FREE. Attendees are required to pay for housing, food, and transportation expenses incurred during program participation.

Presentations and slides will be provided electronically. Please bring your laptop. 

Course Objectives

  • Explore the state-of-the-art of digital health, including the use of wearables, sensors, and virtual/augmented reality; the use of omics data in health care; and the creation of an interactive system for using health data.
  • Discuss strategies for research and identify opportunities for and challenges to using digital health.
  • Share knowledge and experiences with leaders in the field.

Who Should Attend?

Graduate students, faculty, and clinicians who are citizens or permanent U.S. residents may attend.

The speakers in this course will include nationally known experts
from various institutions including the NIH and universities across
the United States. 

Call for Abstracts
For poster session to be held on Monday, July 15th in Building 10, FAES Terrace. You can submit your abstract at https://faes.formstack.com/forms/ninr_abstract_submission_form.

  • Areas of research should include digital health, mobile technology, wearables, sensors, virtual/augmented reality, or molecular omics science (e.g., genomics, microbiome, gene expression, proteomics, metabolomics).
    All abstracts will be made available to the public on the NINR website. 
  • The first 100 abstracts will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline to submit is April 29.
