Hi Folks,

Welcome back to the IIRC Race Series of indoor rowing competitions for the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships - IIRC 2017.

It's been quite a year. Some of last Year's competitors managed to out-do and add to their IIRC 2016 victories with Olympic regatta victories, finals and even a pair of Silver medals in the LM2X. Well done to Sanita Puspure, Sinéad Lynch, Claire Lambe, Gary O'Donovan and Paul O'Donovan. Paul went on to further success in Rotterdam a fortnight later by winning the Lightweight Men's Single Scull World Championship convincingly. As none of his competitors managed to attend the IIRC last year we've concluded that that's what gave him the edge....

We've managed to expand what's on offer our FISA Masters categories. The 1000m races are in response to a huge upsurge in Masters Rowing here in Ireland and abroad. The mid-life crises saw the World Masters Regatta in Copenhagen being inundated by some pretty handy Irish crews last September - let's see how the last few months has brought them on.

Our Para-Rowers are also being set a challenge with all their distances being cranked up to 2000m from the 1000m more traditionally held. Watch out for some keen international hopefuls in the LTA, AS & TA categories.

ROWfit is back with 112 categories of race distances and times. We are also maintaining the Inter-provincial element at IIRC 2017 with some top end teams being fielded by each branch in the J13-J18 mens & womens categories. Which Province will bag the title this year?

Without further ado have a read through the necessary documentation, check out the FAQ before asking the Q and get set for January 21st here in Limerick, back in the UL Arena for some serious fun!

See you all there - Joe C.

This event is open to EVERYBODY. No pre-qualification is required.

Places are limited. Get your entries in to avoid disappointment. Remember Online Registration is for Individuals only. Two or more individuals (except in a single team) should use the 'Group Entry Form'.
