~ 5th in the 6 Workshop series ~

Participate in one or more workshop for just $55 plus HST for Chamber Members and $65 plus HST for non-members. Provide your business with important diversity & inclusion education.

These workshops are open to all Kawartha Lakes community businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Topic: LGBTQ Community

With increasingly diverse workplaces and communities, it is essential to create work environments and communities that access a wide range of customers and employees while creating a positive community. In this interactive workshop, Rachael Nicholls will guide participants through stories of experience and activities that aid us in expanding our understanding about sexual and gender minorities.

Facilitator: Rachael Nicholls, B.A., B. Ed., MA

Rachael Nicholls is a sessional faculty member at Trent University, a doctoral candidate at OISE/University of Toronto, and a Youth Mentor at St. John's Anglican Church.  She is delighted to join the Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce in their Welcoming Diversity Workshop Series.  She views this opportunity as she views her work in education, it is "not to transfer knowledge but to create the possibilities for the production and construction of knowledge" with the others.  She hopes this will be an opportunity for communal creation, self-discovery, and reflection.  Rachael grew up in Lindsay, ON with her parents and two sisters. She now resides in Peterborough with Elsa, her English bulldog.
