SBC focuses on NASA Construction Contracts

The next general meeting of the Stennis Business Consortium (SBC) is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 1:00pm in the auditorium of the StennisSphere, Building 1200, at Stennis Space Center.  At this meeting, there will be a special presentation on the upcoming NASA-Stennis procurement under the Multiple-Award Construction Contracts (MACCs).  Under this contract, NASA competitively selected 10 companies that would be responsible for major construction projects at Stennis for a 5-year period.  These 10 companies (or a subset, if set-aside for small companies) then submitted bids in response to specific work orders. The MACC will be eligible for re-compete in less than 2 years.  A NASA Contracting Officer will present information on the contract process and common mistakes companies made in submitting proposals and work order bids.

Following the presentation, the current MACC contract holders have been invited to have tables to meet with other companies to explore strategic partnerships and to learn more about the capabilities of small local companies.  Tables for any company considering a MACC proposal submission and looking for partners are also available.  Contact Laurie Jugan, lajconsulting@bellsouth.net for additional information.

SBC’s mission is to provide a mechanism for federal and state agencies, local institutions, and businesses to exchange information on small business goals, needed and emerging technologies, upcoming procurement requirements and opportunities, and issues dealing with existing procurement regulations.  At this meeting, representatives from the following agencies will also speak:

  •         Marine Industries Science & Technology (MIST)   cluster
  •         Naval Oceanographic Office
  •         NASA-Stennis
  •         Supervisor of Shipbuilding
  •         Others as they confirm

Contact Laurie Jugan 228-688-1192 or ssc-mset@mail.nasa.gov for more information.
