Four Session Workshop covers:
September 5 - Camera Controls: f stops, shutter speeds, depth of field, white balance. Composition: center of interest, emphasis, de-emphasis, distractions. Instructor shows his prints.
September 12 - Camera Controls in the Field: lens selection and how different lenses in conjunction with camera to subject distance dramatically change the relationship of subject elements, camera height and its effect on the image, exposure / histogram. Instructor does a slide show of straight (un-Photoshopped) images and finished (Photoshopped) images for comparison.
September 19 - Editing images in Camera Raw and Photoshop. Students present their work.
September 26 - Editing images in Photoshop. Students present their work.
Each session runs from 5:30-7:30 pm on the second floor of the Stourbridge Project.
About Your Instructor
Chip Forelli’s photographic career encompasses 25 years as a professional photographer with international gallery representation and publication credits including the cover and a feature profile in Communication Arts as well as articles in Photo District News, Graphis, Lenswork and the New York Times Magazine. He is an Associate Professor of Photography at the State University of New York, has taught at the International Center of Photography in New York City and the Maine Media Workshops in addition to leading independent workshops overseas.
