2016 Matt Bachmann Memorial Fall Classic 

Your OPTA Board is happy to invite you to play in our annual fall tournament, the Matt Bachmann Memorial Fall Classic!

Matt Bachmann was a longtime OPTA member, and served over his near 20-year participation as a Division Captain (before we were online), Secretary, Treasurer, and President.  And like all of us, he was a great lover of our sport.  We lost Matt early in 2013, but his competitive spirit will never be forgotten and we are proud and honored to continue the new tradition of The Matt Bachmann Fall Classic.

Format: Single-elimination tournament with men's and women's singles (divided by skill level), and men's, women's, and mixed doubles (open, unless sufficient entries are received to make division by skill level appropriate).

Scoring: All matches will be best of 3 sets with regular scoring, unless an unusually large number of entries is received or there are weather delays, in which case we may alter the scoring system for any round or draw.

NTRP Levels: All levels welcome!  We'll separate the singles draws by skill level as needed. There is a field on the entry form to indicate your skill level. 

When:  IMPORTANT! Saturday matches may be scheduled to begin as early as 7:45 am and to conclude by as late as 10 pm; and Sunday matches may be scheduled to begin as early as 7:45 am and to conclude by as late as 6 pm (later if weather delays are encountered). Players must be fully available and willing to play as scheduled within these times before registering.

Draws and match times will be published no later than 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15th. In case of weather delays, match rescheduling is to be determined. 

Cost: FREE with your paid 2016 OPTA membership dues ($40).  If you haven't paid your 2016 dues yet, or aren't yet an OPTA member, the registration fee is $40 per person, which will double as your membership dues for 2016.  You'll be entered into the tournament draw, and you'll also be entitled to participate in our Winter Party (to be held on a date TBA in 2017)!  Payment may be made via PayPal (send $40 to register@optennis.com) or you can pay us with cash, check, or credit card at the tournament registration table at Taylor Park prior to your match.
