The First Pres City Project 

What is the City Project?

First Presbyterian Church's second annual two week long local outreach program where we hope to love Florence, SC in the name of Christ! We have a list of local projects and areas of need in our community that you can sign up to help with.

Who is Leading the City Project?

The Elders in the Service Ministry Unit are spearheading the City Project along with Rev. Chris Handley. In addition, each specific project has a project leader. We have also formed a Publicity Team of volunteers to provide information to the community and keep our City Project volunteers informed.

How Can I get Involved?

You can join us by registering below or signing up in the Fellowship Hall. You can volunteer for any amount of time though we challenge you to serve 4 hours (2 of them with Feed My Starving Children Mobile Food Pack on July 11 & 12).

We gladly accept donations towards the City Project. Please mail checks to the church office at 700 Park Avenue, Florence, SC 29501 or drop them in the offering plate on Sunday noted "City Project."

Feed My Starving Children Mobile Food Pack

Feed My Starving Children is a Christian nonprofit hunger relief organization that provides food to help communities in developing countries become self-sustaining. Volunteers handpack scientifically designed meals, which are shipped to partners in nearly 70 countries and used to run orphanges, clinics, schools, missions and community feeding programs.

Our church along with other area churches and organizations will pack 100,000 meals and must raise $22,000. (To date (May 2012) we have $16,000 pledged.) The packing will require 500 volunteers so we encourage everyone to participate in this event. Schedule is below.
