BIOMIMICRY FOR YOUR BUSINESS
A Lunch & Learn presentation by Great Lakes Biomimicry, a non-profit organization that creates conditions for innovation inspired by nature.
John Nottingham, Co-President of Nottingham Spirk, will also present how biomimicry drives innovation at his product design and engineering company.
Biomimicry has proven to be a powerful tool to spark ideas, create revolutionary change and transform the way we design, produce and distribute goods and services. The practice provides a new lens for solving problems caused by rising energy costs, diminishing natural resources, regulatory legislation and consumer demand.
As one of the most promising design approaches to 21st century sustainability challenges, biomimicry is the only one based upon 3.8 billion years of successful innovation – and was listed on Fortune’s Trends to Ride in 2017. “If you’re not incorporating the most brilliant ideas from the natural world into what you sell, you’re leaving money on the table.”
Learn how their work has helped change the Great Lakes region’s reputation from the Rust Belt to the Biomimicry Belt, and discover how learning from nature can help organizations innovate, create jobs and cultivate a healthy environment.
