New York: Building a Cooperative City!

Please join the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (Federation), for the launch of New York: Building a Cooperative City, a kick-off event to launch the International Year of Cooperatives!

The United Nations General Assembly has declared 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives, highlighting the contribution of cooperatives to socio-economic development, in particular recognizing their impact on poverty reduction, employment generation and social integration.

"Building a Cooperative City" is a first-ever convening and seminar of New York City cooperatives across sectors: credit unions; food, housing, and worker co-ops; and others, which will feature panel discussions and plenary presentations by representatives of these organizations, as well as the issuance of a proclamation by the City Council of New York.
