Shabbat Across America is a once-a-year event. Jews all across America and Canada will celebrate Shabbat the same evening. At Beth Shalom, congregants will have dinner together in the Social Hall and then attend services together in the Sanctuary.
We will celebrate the theme of "Across America" by designating our dinner tables to be specific states or regions in the United States where notable Jewish history occurred. After dinner Rabbi Foss will lead us in singing special Shabbat songs.
Our after-dinner children's program (for children in Kindergarten - Fifth Grade) will carry through with activities involving American Jewish History.
During Shabbat services selected children in First Grade and above will form a Living Time Line of Amerian Jewish History. Rabbi Grossman will lead the children and congregants in a discussion based on this time line. Children will be selected for this activity on a first-come-first-serve basis so be sure to register your child if they would like to participate.
Our menu will include: Talipia, Manicotti, Roasted Vegetables, Salad, and Dessert.
Cost: For Members - $20/adult (over age 12), $10/ages 5 - 12, Children under 5 FREE
Cost for Non-members - $25/adult (over age 12), $15/ages 5 - 12, Children under 5 FREE
