AeroCamp Advanced is a summer camp experience like no other! Young aspiring aviators - high school students age 15-17 - spend each day immersed in aviation education and flying airplanes. This program is ideal for individuals who are interested in learning to fly or in pursuing a career in aviation or aerospace.
Each day will be split into three parts: ground training, flight training, and a special event or activity.
Ground Training:
- Attend daily classroom ground schools to prepare for each flight lesson.
- Discover how flight instruments work and how to interpret them.
- Learn how to read aviation charts.
- Practice the aviation phonetic alphabet and radio communication.
Flight Training:
- Take the controls on an introductory flight lesson.
- Conduct a preflight aircraft inspection.
- Practice the four basic flight maneuvers: climbs, turns, straight-and-level flight, and descents.
- Learn to fly a rectangular airport traffic pattern.
Special Events & Activities:
- Tour aviation facilities such as air traffic control tower and aircraft maintenance hangar.
- Learn about different careers in the aviation industry.
- Discover the inner workings of one of the busiest General Aviation airports in the country.
In order to maximize each camper’s experience, AeroCamp Advanced has a maximum class size of 8 participants (minimum of 4.) Tuition cost of $1,995 includes all flight time, flight and ground instructor time, pilot supplies, and activities.
- A deposit of $1,000 is due upon registration.
- The remaining $995 is due June 1st.
- Cancellation/refund policy: Cancellations received prior to June 1st will receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations received after June 1st are eligible for a 50% refund.
