"Jump Start Your Sales, Make More Money"

Arrive at 5:30 PM, sign-in, and network with other entrepreneurs and SCORE Volunteers.  Get a good seat for the program that begins promptly at 6:00 PM. 

This workshop is a basic training program on Sales.  It will reacquaint experienced sales people with the many elements of a selling process and will teach new sales people the skills needed to find prospects and turn them into customers.   You will learn that the sales method needed will vary depending upon the complexity and cost of the product or service being sold.  You will be shown the various steps of a sale and then taught the needed skills to make you a professional sales person.

This instructional workshop will address the following topics and much more!

  • What is the difference between Marketing and Sales?
  • What is the role of Sales in the Marketing Mix?
  • What are the six steps of a sale?
  • Are all methods of selling the same?
  • What is on-line selling?
  • Is there a “Selling Language” that I should use?
  • How does body language help the selling process?
  • Do I need a referral program?
  • What’s my Social Prospecting Pitch?
  • How do I develop a Sales Promotional Plan?

Once you have successfully completed this session, you will be prepared to initiate a Sales Plan for your business to create prospects which can be converted to sales and profits.  You will understand the importance of each step of the selling process and will have learned the skills necessary to turn a prospect into a customer!

Event Speaker: Jory Berkwits

Jory Berkwits recently retired as a Senior Vice President with Merrill Lynch in Boston  after a diverse and successful career within the firm’s Wealth Management division. After settling in Sarasota, he quickly became involved with a number of different activities. One of them, writing, resulted in the publication of two books, My Bittersweet Homecoming and Death of the Dinosaur. He also became a member of Bridge Angel Investors, where he serves on their Executive Committee. Additionally,  he has served as a SCORE mentor since 2016. Jory holds degrees from Columbia University and the University of Washington. His hobbies include tennis, boating, and fishing.

Event Speaker: Peter Gruits

Peter has lived in Sarasota  since 2010. Peter is a Florida real estate agent whose career path included: NYSE broker with Paine Webber, Loan Officer CitiCorp, NY, Managing Member Keystone Real Estate Investments, Detroit, Managing Member Sky Bridge Health Tech, Northville, MI. Experience includes: brokerage, banking syndication of commercial real estate, leasing of medical equipment, sales and project management of Enterprise-wide IBM software, implementation and IT Security. Projects included foreign travel and leadership of large teams on large projects around the world.
